SAFER Meeting - June 2020 Cancelled

Dear SAFER Family and Friends,

Again, it is with great regret and disappointment that due to current COVID 19 restrictions the monthly June meeting has been canceled. In the wake of recent events including the never-ending COVID 19 crisis, a catastrophic near-miss commercial fire (LAFD), City’s enduring unprecedented peaceful protests, destructive riotous acts by distractors and the acute onset of a “20-year June fire season”, the need to meet and discuss safety issues has never been more necessary!!

It is my goal to have a July meeting or more appropriately, a homecoming! To my vendor members, thank you for your continued support, keeping the supply chains moving and manufacturing PPE, tools and equipment. Firefighters are surviving fireground calamities due design, engineering and compliance of their safety equipment.

To my Brothers and Sisters of the Police and Fire Service, please be safe, look out for each other and reach out for assistance when it is needed. June is PTSD awareness month, have the conversation with your peers and command. We are all shouldering the many crises that we encounter every day; we are expected to make things right again, bring calm to chaos, make sense of the unimaginable and maintain our professionalism without error. We have been at it for a long, long time. Remain safe and healthy.

Looking forward to seeing you all very soon,
